Gratitude for Your Support!
This was originally a fundraising letter that drew in over $6000 in December of 2023. It has now been updated and edited to share the list of our story and give thanks to all who expressed their encouragement at that time.

As a life-long movement performer, Somatic Movement Therapist™ and Advanced Rolfer™, I believe our communities need greater opportunities for conscious connection with others in ways that directly nurture growth in self discovery, joy, and collective healing through movement and perception.
Your contributions helped me do something helpful in this hurting and broken world; together, we are gradually creating a place for people to find themselves and feel grounded and connected to the earth, the sky and one another through healing, diversity and somatic intelligence……one step at a time!
Why this Mattered to me
I’ve been personally celebrating my own access to heal my own sweet brain, using the TAG Method™, including the Brainspotting® Technique, which I am now trained in.
Like many of us, my story is about a brain that did not receive what it needed to feel safe, appreciated and secure enough to be at my innate human-given resting state and have the capacity to contribute where I shine. I also suffer from two fairly minor brain injuries.
Through ongoing healing endeavors, I feel a deeper confidence that there’s hope for my collective dreams. The gifts of this brain gave me the audacity and strength to build this business that can house movement research and help people access healing, emotional, functional, structural and social wounds. The gifts of my own experience guide my way to helping people find themselves at a somatic level that greatly empowers any healing endeavor, because it makes it your own, in your felt sense body. The gift of community keeps me going as so many of you have said to me, “you’re gonna pull this off!”
I feel very excited to be part of the growing conversation of enlivening, emerging culture.
During this time, when many people are looking for help handling the many tragedies and devastations of our coexistence, this is also, I believe, a rich and budding tim for us to learn to be together more often locally and dwell on culture itself, on our unique gifts.
What do we mean to each other now as a community and what are we manifesting?
Being/Body is a place for that conversation and momentum. In my view, it is through somatic education, healing, expressing and moving and using collaborations that include you, Rolfing, somatic movement education and neuroplasticity, as well as a cycle of teachers both local and nonlocal, for workshops in contact improvisation, dance improvisation, breathwork, movement work and energy circles.
Thank you from my rooted heart to yours!

Our Mission at Body/Being Somatic Arts
BBSA is a somatic healing and creative movement space in Burlington, VT. We hold the intent to eliminate social oppression by healing through the body. At BBSA, transparency and inclusivity are priority, including neurodiversity and sensorial processing diversity.
BBSA provides opportunities for people to develop more curiosity and connection through their senses to feel their experiences. In this way, we heal and resolve perpetual mental suffering and explore the deeper offerings, intelligence and wisdom of our bodies.
We welcome the community to engage in personal holistic somatic therapeutic sessions, somatic contemplative movement classes, monthly weekend mini somatic gatherings, and contact improvisation. BBSA hosts guest teachers and live performance events that highlight movement, embodied presence, and collaborative arts in a local venue.
